Two things.

First:

Don't expect German style reeds to play on a French style mouthpiece. They are
incompatible designs (as are so many things French and German, LOL)

Second:

Vandoren makes IMHO the best, in fact the only really good, bass clarinet
reed. They dont need to make a second version. The V-12, I believe, was an
attempt to get back the legion of clarinetists who stopped using Vandorens in
the 70' s because of poor quality. Many people left for Morree or Oliveri to
get reeds which were less thin and shrill. I made my own reeds for years from
precut blanks. Vandoren was just not an option for me.

I for one believe that they succeeded. Though I still find myself a fan of the
Zonda reeds, maybe because the Zonda cut is so similar to the hand made reeds
I used for years. However, I find I can use Vandoren V-12's and Zonda's
interchangeably and no-one can tell the difference. Even my stand partner in
the Symphony who is VERY observant, AND CRITICAL, of my sound. LOL!
