Jack,

Thanks a zillion for all the great ideas, I'll try to find a big music store on
par with yours in St. Louis. Do you or anyone else know of any in the LA area?
My band director recommended the homeowners insurance route which ended up
being a dead end. Besides, my intention is to find the replacement then worry
about finances.

Unfortunately, the socket joint of the lower key piece was literally shattered,
to the point that there are probably still crumbs on the field. The top tone
hole used on the clarion F was destroyed with a jagged, crumbly break. Anyway,
the socket is essentially nonexistant.

My clarinet instructor offered to rebuild it with fiberglass, but I'm reluctant
to do that because the joint will be weak, and I don't know how it will affect
its playing.

Ideally, I would like to find a replacement bore to transfer the old keys to.
I figured serial number series could be matched if a possible replacement was
encountered. This is like finding the proverbial needle in a haystack, but
it is worth a try.

Anyway, if there is a fragmented Noblet floating around that somebody wishes to
be rid of, I would greatly appreciate any info.

Thanks again,

Jennifer
