Evette is one thing, Evette & Schaeffer is something else. For quite a
while, Buffet marketed the Evette & Schaeffer as a "mid-line" or "step-up"
instrument. The Evette was their name for student line instruments.
There were Evette clarinets in both wood and plastic.

Personally, I like the student line clarinets by Evette, Vito (LeBlanc)
and Yamaha better than the Selmer Bundy or Model 100. That wasn't always
the case, but given changes which have taken place in recent years, that's
the way I read the situation right now.
