Just a bit of hair splitting. I don't think that there is any question that
black woods need oiling. The question is, if it was done during the
manufacturing process, at what point does it need to be repeated by the
owner.

Neither do I. That's been the point. There _are_ differing opinions on
the need for oiling blackwoods, and the opinions _on both sides_ are
supported by manufacturers and woodwind techs.
