Hi Jim,

FWIW, here are a few composers/works that come to mind.

Bohuslav Martinu, "Sonatina" (Is this "tuneful" enough?)

Zdenek Fibich, "Poem" (I don't know this piece at all. I suspect it's short
and conservative. Possibly not enough of a piece for what you need. Possibly
not originally for clarinet. Dorn lists it in their catalog. I didn't find it
under "Fibich" in the Sneezy database. Fibich also wrote an "Idyll" for
clarinet and orchestra. There might be a piano reduction available but I can't
swear to it. Perhaps you could check (or should that be Czech - groan!) the ICA
Library.

Antonin Dvorak, "Four Romantic Pieces" (transcribed by Abe Galper from Op. 75?
I'd follow up on these. If it is Op. 75, it's been recorded by some heavy
violinists.)

Franz Krommer, movements from either Clarinet Concerto (if you are willing to
consider piano reductions)

Hope others can add to the list.

Best regards,
Jack Kissinger
St. Louis
