Mario,
in the Feb/March issue of The Clarinet magazine,Ed Palanker of the
Baltimore Symphony did a report on the Second Clarinet audition they
held,and in the discussion of the excerpts,he said that the orchestra's
conductor(David Zinman?),insists that the passage before figure 14 be
played by the clarinet,that it is in the wrong key to be played by the
flute,and that in Stravinsky's recording of the work,it is played by the
clarinet.
He goes on to say(Palanker)that the panel was insructed not make a big
issue of it if some didn't play it,but he felt you should be prepared to
do so.
