Well, Tom, the point of my response was to draw attention to
the fact that your descriptions...of "a more mature, flexible
tone" are no more helpful or informative than when such verbiage
is used in a mail order catalogue. Should such meaningless words
for describing a clarinet's characteristics assume greater credi-
bility simply because your name is associated with them? I don't
think so. If you're going to describe clarinets that way, expect
a few reactions of disdain for a lack of objective information to
clarify. The only conclusion I drew from your original statement
was, after reading it, that I was no closer to understanding the
qualities of the Sonata clarinet than if you had never submitted
your post in the first place.
