OK, now I'm mad!

The need for bore oil is not a myth....period. I don't know about clarinets,
but the wax thing was tried by several wooden flute and recorder makers
years ago, even going so far as to impregnate the wood under vacuum. It was
generally felt to be detrimental to the tone and response and was stopped by
most.

Where do you get off claiming the (correct) use of bore oil is folk lore! It
comes from centuries of hands on experience and experimentation by hundreds
of professional players, just as intelligent and serious as the Laubin
folks.

The companies you mentioned have their own ideas which I think are wrong,
but which can be debated. However, insulting the understanding and
intelligence of professionals with perfectly reasonable opinions is
churlish.

(A heated argument about bore oil! Who would have thunk it.)

STOP THE MYTHS. NEVER use bore oil is the recommendation of Laubin Oboe,
Guy
Chadash and Buffet (courtesy of Francois Kloc). These people have done
serious
research on this topic and not following folk lore.....
