In Orchestra, the Bass Clarinetist had a pad fall out. >>>>>>

David, This reminds me of one of my "life experiences".

I was playing bass in the Janacek Sextet "Mladi" with the U of Toledo Woodwind
Quintet in Columbus at a convention (prob OMEA).

I noticed in the middle of the second movt, that my low Eb was NOT speaking.
But I gamely kept playing. At the end of the mov't I looked down, and in
HORROR found that the pad for the low Eb key was GONE.

I started looking all over the floor, while my compatriots were swabbing, etc.

I could NOT find the pad....PANIC!!!!!!!

Then a voice came form the audience. "The pad is under your right foot!" For
some reason I turned BRIGHT RED!

After the use of a lighter, two minutes later I was one my way again.

And people wonder why my hair has turned gray!
