Doug,

I completely agree with you about Series 9's. [At .584" it's only .003"
smaller than the Centered Tone.] I can't agree with Tom Ridenour that it
has lower chalumeau
sharpness. Perhaps he hasn't tested them with an electronic tuner. The
needle practically stands still! It is the easiest, stabilest, smoothest
clarinet I' ve ever played.

The Series 9 A is .587" [the same as the Centered tone A] and it has none
of the stuffiness that R13 players are always complaining about. The
intonation is superb.

The Series 9 C is .570" It has hideous lower chalumeau FLATNESS. With the
kind telephone help of Tom Ridenour I increased the bore to .580" and
increased the lower flare. It now plays magnificently! It's intonation is
as good as the Bb's and the tone is down right gorgeous. Even the low E is
only 5 cents flat!---------
