Patricia, I think the reason you haven't found it yet is the title. It sounds
to me like you're referring to a Rabaud piece called "Solo de Concours". It
is in g minor, starts with a long cadenza, goes into a 3/8 largo section, then
modulates into a 2/4 G Major section, which is mostly eighth notes until the
end, when you get triplets and finally 16th notes. It ends on a high G. I
think I had seen somewhere that it was arranged for band accompaniment. Is
this the piece? If so, it is published as a solo by SMC.(One of my students
is working on it right now!) I don't know if SMC is the publisher for the
band arrangement, but try Kendor again with this title. E-mail me privately
if you want more info--I'll even sing it for you over the phone! <g>
