Subj: [kl] Three orchestral works

I've just got this year's orchestra (Chch Youth Orchestra) schedule,
including the program for our first concert. We're playing: Berlioz
"Symphonie Fantastique", Christopher Marshall's "Chaconne for Orchestra", R.
Strauss' horn concerto no. 1, and Moncayo "Huapango". I know the Berlioz,
but I don't know anything about the others. I have a suspicion that
Marshall may be a New Zealander - I could well be wrong, but I can't find
him in any of my music reference books, and I know that our conductor does
have a policy of playing NZ works as much as possible. I'm hoping for a
nice, meaty bass clarinet part - does anyone know anything about the
Marshall or the Moncayo? Sax parts would also be good - give me a chance to
play my underworked alto. Also, how many clarinets does the Strauss call
for? I assume it's only two, right?

TIA
Anna
