It's a vicious circle. Trying to stop it is like trying to get your kids to try
something they *know* they won't like.

Maybe things are getting better ... A snapshot of several generations of racist
Americans:

My great, great grandfather, Albert M. (for middle) Glenn fought in the civil war.

My grandfather told me that he hated basketball because it was just a bunch of
oversized, overpaid "niggers" throwing a ball around.

My father told me that blacks were fine and just like us. Just don't bring one
home for dinner.

I didn't bring one home but I did have a black girl friend during my study in
London. (Fizzled out when it turned out she already had a boyfriend and I was just
a little entertainment on the side)

The next generation is forming itself ... and my wife and I have come to the
conclusion that we are actually Chinese in wrong bodies.

An associate of mine has a daughter (white) living in South Africa. She recently
came home because of trouble with her visa after many years of living there. There
is a new law: Jobs must be offered in the following priority: black males, black
females, white males, white females.

We've got a long way to go.
