Subj: [kl] Orchestrated Poulenc Sonata
Date: Wed, 20 Jan 1999 22:52:26 -0500

Greeting,
This week Carol Wincenc is playing with my orchestra, and one of the pieces
she's performing is an orchestration of the Poulenc Flute Sonata. The piece
is interesting in this form, there are however severe balance issues, but
mostly the fault of the ensemble. Bill Lennox is the orchestrator of this
edition. I was wondering if this had been done for the Clarinet sonata. An
orchestration of the clarinet sonata would be even more successful from the
standpoint of balance. Have any of you heard or performed the work in this
form?
thanks,
Mario Estrada
