Well, all this talk about reeds drying out has started me thinking about
the OPPOSITE problem!

I am referring, of course, to Esther Williams' clarinetist in all those
old movies, and the problems he must have had keeping his reed dry
playing underwater. Do you think he put a piece of dry sponge in his
mouthpiece cap?

Anyone who has had similar experiences: I'm holding my breath!
