AMEN! And a :-) for your thumbrest problem! This is the heart of the
point everybody has been trying to make. Don't buy on the label alone; try
out everything you can, use all the input you can. The clarinet you
ultimately decide on, regardless of what brand or model it is, will please
you, and you won't have to second guess yourself later. If you buy like a
sheep, you will never REALLY be sure that what you have is best, although
you may mouth the words.
