Dear Mr. Open Minded Buyer,
AllI have tried to do is encourage players to think about the clarinet
instead of feel, to come to know instead of guess. If someone does that
and it is "following the flock" then so be it. I simply call it maturing
in your thinking and skills to the point that you can think for yourself
and make confident decisions without looking over your shoulder.

You may check my web site out and the technical articles and you will find
no reference to models of clarinets whatsoever regarding recommendations,
only discussions on specific ways, tests which can be used to really find
out in detail how individual clarinets play and respond before you
invest a crock pot full of money on something that is not really right ; as
a gentleman had sadly done who came to my shop only a few days ago.
People do all sorts of bad things and loose a lot of money because they
make inappropriate investments because they lack solid information. That's
not good.
Those articles are not there to sell or coerce any one, but to give them
concrete information I personally lacked for many, many years; information
that would have helped me and my students a lot. They are offered in the
hope that others might be help in the ways I was not, no matter what brand
of clarinet they buy and whom they buy it from.
I will say this one more time: I share what I do to help, if others are
helped I am glad, whatever they buy and whoever they buy from. That is not
my concern here in the least.
If you don't think the information is correct then refute it. If you just
don't like the information I share, then for Heaven's sake, keep it to
yourself, or better still just don't read it; just close your mind to it,
Mr. Open MInded Buyer.
