Hi all

Dan wrote a great deal about eingangs and cadenzas.

I may be very stupid but what is an eingang?

BTW, before someone says that I am obviously stupid, I had better point out
that I have passed Grade 8 (Clarinet and Theory) and I have a degree in
Music and Education. I can't remember ever hearing of an Eingang before
(apart from German language lessons)!

Thinking logically (well German is one of the most 'logical' languages, or
at least thats what they say), an Eingang is an entrance! I suppose I have
always thought of a cadenza as being 'a showing-off interlude' type section.
So can someone (Dan/Tony/Roger) elaborate? Is it possible, I just haven't
encountered a piece with one in? No because I have played K622! So I got
out my copy of the music (Thurston) and checked it - no, no comments there,
but I don't remember ever even trying a cadenza either so it is possible
that we just never discussed it!
