If the mouthpiece is an ebonite one, it's sometimes possible to repair
scratch and dent damage by gently warming it local to the scratch or
dent. Passing it rapidly through a flame several times is one way of
doing this. Careful you don't burn it!

The ebonite has a 'memory', and will often return to its previous state.
