Actually Marty,
The truth is this:
Larry Combs picked his first Opus Bb from 4 clarinets and played it for
three years before he tried any others. Ricardo bought his first Opus
while in Florida and I think it was the one that the sales rep brought to
him first off.
Combs picked his first Opus "A" from one clarinet.....the one I handed him,
one of only two that were presently in the country at that time. That is
the same one he now plays.
The last time Ricardo came to the factory when I was there he picked an
instrument out of a rack of 10.
And the assumption that Combs and Morales play them only because they are
free and they can save a buck is an insult to their personal integrity and
what they think of their art; it is to assume that they would jeopardize
their job and diminish their art for a few bucks.
Your assumptions are erroneous.
Yeh plays Yamaha instruments.
