I have seen a Haynes silver clarinet - it belongs to an old retired dentist
who plays with the town band I contaminate during the summer. I don't know
whether its solid silver or not, but it IS double-walled, with a space into
which you are supposed to breath air to keep the inner tubt warm. I guess
you might put water in there, but it might be just a mite heavy that way.
Anyway, an interesting instrument, and still used for two concerts a week
during the summer. I don't know if the old guy has any other horn; if so,
he chooses to play this one.
