Thanks again for your answer on speaker tubes

It's been my observarion that clarinet manufacturers just, plain, get it
all wrong. I've come to be quite cynical about their design decisions.
I've seen enough obviously incorrect speaker tubes to doubt their
designer's basic competence. Hence, my original question.---------
