Don't worry. I had the same exact problem when I switched from Rico
to Vandoren. I also thought it sounded to airy, and I got headaches.
Also, my mouth felt dry as a desert after playing on them. But if you
keep at it, you will eventually get accustomed to playing them and
will produce much better sounds. Yes, it will feel weird for the first
week or so, but trust me, stepping up to better quality reeds is well
worth it. Now, if I ever use a Rico Royal 3, it feels like blowing
through thin air!
