"Noah A. Smith" <nasmith@-----.edu> asked
for recommendations of unaccompanied clarinet
works, especially pre-20th century works.

If you enjoy the Willson Osborne Rhapsody, you might
also like the unaccompanied Sonatina Op. 27 by Miklos Rosza.
He also composed an unaccompanied Sonata Op. 41 and an
unaccompanied work for oboe that might lend itself to
clarinet, but I haven't worked on those yet.

Recordings of the Osborne are also available in collections
by bassoonists, since the work was originally written
for that instrument and then reworked for clarinet
by the composer.

For earlier music to play, I recommend the unaccompanied flute
Fantasies by Telemann. There's a widely available set
of 12 in various editions, and an additional set numbered
13-24 published by Southern Music Co. (I don't know if
the second group are originally for flute or arranged from
solo pieces for violin.) These are easier to bring to a
level for satisfying performance than are arrangements of
the great unaccompanied flute/violin/cello works by J.S. Bach,
which are available in a number of editions arranged for
clarinet.
