Uh . . . perhaps one doesn't see the humor (humour for you UK folks) in
pointing out the misspelling of mispelling?

The Albert Schweitzer thing is a little different. As a lover of cats, I
don't care what we call him. Wasn't he a reasonable proficient musician,
though? I believe he played organ--although this is hard to imagine, with
him in the jungle all those years. Perhaps he had a portable model.

As far as misspelling generally--and to bring this back somewhere to a topic
we can discuss--my last name is Fay. That's F-A-Y. One wouldn't think it
would be misspelled in programs, but one would be wrong. In the hundreds of
performances that I have done over the years, the error rate is running at
about 35%. My oboe-playing friend from high school, Peter Velikonja, OTOH,
always has his spelled correctly.

Go figure.

PERSNICKETY is an understatement. I joined this list to enjoy and
learn about the clarinet. NOT for a spelling lesson. I kind of like it
spelled that way, I may just leave it.

One suggestion; maybe you should have some requirements before joining
this list. An educational requirement of four or more years of college,
or maybe just "proffesionals only". The only smart one one this list is
Roger. The only mistake he made was to come back.

It is a shame that I have to seem so offended over a misspelled word.
There have been some post from others who described the feeling of being
intimated in posting here. It is sad that everyone can't discuss a
common interest without enduring criticism.

I may not be a perfect speller, but I do know how to spell Good Bye.

Its been real.
