For those of you with Real Audio capabilities on your computer,
there's a great jazz station you can listen to live over the Internet.
It's WBGO in Newark, NJ, and the URL is
http://www1.jazzcentralstation.com/newjcs/main/radio.asp. You can
also do a browser search on "VTuner", which will give you a site that
will let you search for other radio stations (by genre, location or
keyword) that do live internet streaming.

Like Lelia, I'm in the D.C. area and remain eternally frustrated at
the lack of jazz radio here. The Newark station plays predominatly
straight-ahead jazz, and I listen to it all day at work.
