Tom R. has raised some interesting ideas. We clarinet players are
increadably narrow. The Loree oboe company is losing business to Buffet
because Buffet developed a much better oboe. There are a number of other
small French and Italian oboe makers who are doing wonderful things to the
oboe.

My wife plays horn (Paxman) and they have wide choices available; Lawson,
Schmidt, Paxman, Finke, Lewis, Atkinson, and these are the small builders!
How about the trusty Holton, Conn, King, etc. I have been jealous with her
choices of playing styles in horns available. Lets not even mention Flute
makers!

Though I play R-13's, and am too cheap to replace them, I have really been
tempted by the Concerto, Opus, Signature and even the Howarth's. It is
wonderful to have a wider selection of clarinets.

My problem is being a supporter of underdogs, I still use Nota Bene in dos
as a word processor because it is wonderful. Yes, their first Window's
version is due out soon!
