Just as addendum to my previous note, Kevin. The Buffet Festival and RC
also have the higher register tube placement which results in improved left
hand 12ths; that's great, but it doesn't match up so great with the R-13.
In my opinion, the Festival is the best clarinet Buffet makes, IF IF IF!,
you want to retain something of the R-13 sound and take advantage of the
improved 12ths the higher register tube placement provides.
Now, dealing with your bride is another matter. If I have any success with
mine I will gladly pass on the methods I have found to be efficacious. As
a knee jerk suggestion I might recommend prevarication for starters. They
never believe the truth anyway ;-)
