Beth Custer's website has that information, plus a few RealAudio snippets
of her work: http://www.sirius.com/~b1custer/welcome.html Great photo of
her and her alto clarinet.

You can order "The Shirt I Slept In" directly from her. Also, Aquarius
Records here in San Francisco carries it. She has a new group she's
working with too-- Eighty Mile Beach. I haven't heard the new disc but I'm
going to grab it as soon as I get a chance (along with Gary Burton's and
Eddie Daniels' fabulous tribute to Benny Goodman).

"Clarinet Monster" was a project she put together with Ben Goldberg. The
idea was to get a huge bunch of Bay Area clarinetists of all types and
kinds together and see what comes of it. Alas, the publicity was rather
slow and slight-- I spotted the flyer at a Valencia St. bathhouse (of all
places) about a month after the event. Shortly after that, she and Ben put
together Clarinet Thing.

>From the web page: "Clarinet Thing is a quintet of top Bay Area
clarinetist/composers who perform jazz, ethnic, and new music on
instruments of the entire clarinet family.

"Clarinet Thing is: Sheldon Brown (Sheldon Brown Group, Omar Sosa), Ralph
Carney (Special Parrot, Tom Waits), Beth Custer (Eighty Mile Beach, Club
Foot Orchestra), Ben Goldberg (Ben Goldberg Trio, Junk Genius) and Peter
Joshef (Earplay, SF Composers Forum).

"Their repetoire is concentrated in original compositions, free
improvisations, and arrangements of jazz classics by Duke Ellington,
Thelonious Monk, Abdul Ibrahim, John Carter, and Benny Goodman among others.

"Watch for a Clarinet Thing CD in the near future!"

Now THAT looks like something to live for.
