While there are many differences between the current production and the
previous version of the Buffet model 1193, I'm a bit confused on the model
number itself. I was under the impression that the model number for the
current production was 1193-2 and the previous version was 1193. This is
the usage that I've seen here on the list and was used in the replies to the
David's original question by Roger Garrett et al. However, the local dealer
(Washington Music Center) insists that both are the same model number and
that the -2 indicates silver plated keys.

Can anyone shed light on this? (M. Kloc, where are you?)

What are the distinguishing features of the
Prestige 1193-2-0 compared with the 1193
There are not many available in Canada,
and I have a feeling one I tried was in
stock for some time, and didn't incorporate the latest
design improvements. Going to try a new one in Montreal
Monday.
Thanks
Dave Renaud
