Well I have heard some pieces played like this although it is a little tough
to judge just exactly how fast they were going and I couldn't tell if it was
single or multiple tonguing. To me there is little point in this kind of
speed as the music no longer sounds anything like music so even if they can
do it, there's no reason to do so. I won't be listening. Now I am
referring to long runs here. Short pickups into phrases that use notes of a
slightly longer duration are fine as are very short phrases themselves (one
or two beats in length). Measure after measure however is like the Chinese
water torture.
