I've been told, perhaps someone could confirm or correct this,
that the placement of the tube in the "Vintage" is different,
that there be a trade off in the tubes placement between
good tuning, and excessive overtones, and this placement
has evolved over the years. Perhaps they have played with
many other things: bore?undercutting?.
In any case, the Vintage is a return to the original specs.
and my short experience on a vintage is that is feels quite
different. The tuning definitively feels different. I assume
that some older players that grew of with these specs.
would like it. Also, perhaps Kaspar mouthpieces were
designed and finished playing on a clarinet more in line
with the Vintage specs- intonation-feel??
