Hello everyone,
I am currently using a Claricord neck strap, however, it has seemed to
stop working. I can only play for about a half an hour and then I find
that I can barely hold my clarinet. I don't know if it is just me or if
my neck strap has lost its elasticity...

I use the Claricord and recommend it for my students too. The elastic does
wear out and you do have to replace it every so often. If you are like me and
just happen to have a genetically weak thumb, you might also try to change
your right hand position to one that is relaxed and ergonomic for you.

Do you study with anyone? A teacher who can observe your hand position will
be able to help you with this than all of us online.

You really should practice no more than twenty-five minutes at a time without
taking at least a five minute break. This will help you avoid repetitive
stress injuries.

Hope this helps!

Patricia
