You might want to try a Weight Lifter stand. This sits on the floor and
rises to the height of your clarinet bell, giving you a place to rest the
bell so that the stand holds most of the weight of the clarinet. It does
not require any modifications to your clarinet. Don't take chances with RSI!
The stands are available from The Woodwind and other mail order music stores.
