It's probably a hard spot somewhere across an otherwise soft tip. You
probably like the response because of the tip's flexibility, but somewhere
there's a grain fiber that is not so flexible and is making the reed divide
into partials. You can try to find the spot and even it out with your
favorite tool (a piece of rush, a knife or sandpaper), but by the time you
find it you'll probably have destroyed the rest of the tip and have only
wasted time to show for the effort. The surest solution to the problem is to
ditch the reed and find another one that plays well without the chirp.
