Ooops!!! I realized after I sent that, that I forgot to say a starting
location for the microphones (after that long letter).

Try setting the microphone(s) up about 5-6 feet back and about 6 feet high.
This will probably work, but use your ears to figure out what sounds best.
We all have good ears so that is our biggest strength in the studio. You
learn to record by doing it. Books/classes offer a place to start, but
experience is what you ultimately learn from.
