No, I don't think this can be right. Scott never quoted anything, even
in the post you include, until after Donna had posted.

I didn't understand the reference to Scott -- I thought she was inviting
him to join in on her side, actually, as in, "over to Scott, after
this!" -- so I just passed over it.

Donna used Scott's name, so she was confused about who he was; but it
was pretty clear she was attacking me, since she quoted my whole post
and included nothing else.

So, am I a peacemaker who wrote some common sense?-)

Interimly, I may not have been a peacemaker, but ultimately I am: I want
argument here to have the 'other' meaning, or even the 'main' meaning of
the word, as Paulette pointed out:

What would tend to keep it that way here would be rigour, or rigor if
you prefer, applied a bit more frequently, and not only by protagonists.

And I'd say this *is* common sense.

However, I would also agree that you're right that Donna could have
cleaned up her mistake more responsibly.
