I love the CD. Shifrin plays the Adagio more slowly than others (it
takes 7 minutes and 52 seconds on the CD). The other members of the
quintet for the Brahms are Ida Kavafian and Theodore Arm violin; Toby
Appel, viola; and Fred Sherry, cello. I also have a United Recording
Co. CD with Joan Enric Lluna on clarinet accompanied by the English
Chamber Orchestra (conducted by Anthony Pay) for the clarinet concerto
and by the Brodsky quartet for the Brahms quintet. I love this CD too.
Several weeks ago, I heard a recording of Sabina Meyer playing the
Mozart clarinet concerto on the radio. Sounded great.
