I understood the original post - wonder what that says about my state of
mind at the time!?! I blame it **ALL* on those 17 Nutcrackers!

But I also shared this desire, to "homogenize" (for want of a better
term) the sound of the Bb and A clarinets, to minimize the difference in
tone color inherent in the two instruments. Since the discussion of this
issue on this list (and the acquisition of a C clarinet), I've changed my
mind.
