A personal experience regarding Richard Stoltzman:

About 3 years ago my wife (a good amateur pianist) and I attended a
concert in Columbia, Maryland featuring Stoltzman and a (name forgotten)
pianist. During the concert I remarked about how good the combination
sounded and maybe I should consider taking up the clarinet so we could
play together. I previously had played various instruments (piano,
trombone, organ) for a total of about 14 years.

When I retired earlier this year I bought a Buffet B-12 and started
taking lessons with Eyal Bor (I know that some of you know him - he's
great!) I didn't realize how much I had missed playing a musical
instrument until I started again. A R-13 soon followed. Now my wife
and I are playing music together and thoroughly enjoying it. It has
also opened my ears to a new group of musical works that I had
overlooked in the past.

So regardless of whatever opinion one has of Mr. Stoltzman, I will
always remember that concert and the positive change it had on my life.

I hope no one thinks this is too corny!

Merry Christmas.

Bart Kinlein
