Subj: [kl] Christmas Greetings

I had a very special experience last night that I wanted to share with my
friends on Klarinet. The Wind Orchestra in The Netherlands that I play
with gave a Christmas Concert last night at a local community center. The
center is the home for a large number of mentally and physically challenged
people of all ages. I would guess that there were about 100 people in the
audience. They were the most enthusiastic, appreciative crowd that I have
ever experienced. During the entire concert, most of the people were very
vocal and active. Some were standing in the aisles, standing on their
chairs, even standing right up front by the stage. Some were singing,
some were clapping, some were shouting, some were waving their arms as if
they were conducting the orchestra. One person even brought a small snare
drum and played along with us. During one song,"Christmas Swing", we
invited several people to join us on stage and let them play some drums,
sleigh bells, etc. I have never enjoyed myself more during a concert than
I did last night. Music has a way of touching people that I hope we never
forget. It was an experience that I will never forget as it really brought
the spirit of Christmas alive for me this year.

Prettige kerstdag!

Cynthia
