Fellow Klarinetters,

For those of you interested in contemporary music, my group Continuum has
just released its first CD (whoopee!)...of the 5 pieces recorded (all by
Canadian composers), 4 involve clarinet (either Bb or 1 very difficult
piece for Eb with lots of extended techniques, "Flux" by Ronald Bruce
Smith)...the group is a chamber-sized, one-to-a-part ensemble (flute,
clarinet, violin, cello, piano,percussion) and one piece is a virtuoso
duet for clarinet and percussion ("Of Breath and Touch" by Micheline Roi
that's apparently now being performed by other groups in Canada). All are
interesting and varied in style (it's not all minimalist/electro-acoustic
etc.).
