When I recognized this name, I had to write. I used to live about
an hour from Indy and some of my classmates took lessons from Rosemary. I
remember the tales they used to tell about how demanding she was. I most
vividly remember her advocating those crystal mouthpieces. The 2 people I
knew who took lessons used them. That was around 72 or 73. Also, the
girl (at the time) who sat next to me in band went to Butler and played
first chair clarinet for four years. Does anyone happen to know Cathy
Peach? I think she's a band director somewhere in Indiana now.
And you Indiana people----did any of you ever play for Bob
Phillips in the summer? Does anyone know if the band has continued? I
thought I heard he died a while ago.
Sorry to waste list space reminiscing, but I just suddenly was
thinking of these things reading your posts.
