Is it possible that the odor is in the pads? Old pads can reek something
awful. Old clarinets benefit greatly from a thorough cleaning and repadding.

Some new plastic cases have that "new car" odor. It dissipates in time.

In either situation, you might keep your clarinet case open to the ambient
air. Just make sure the case is in a safe place to protect your clarinet.
