Under several names (Strasser, Marigaux and Lemaire; SML; Strasser;
Marigaux; King Marigaux; etc.) SML is a small French company that makes
EXCELLENT oboes -- sort of the R-13 of oboes in Europe, and a few very fine
clarinets. They also used to make a decent sax, but got tired of trying to
compete with Selmer. I don't know about particular models, but I don't
believe they even MAKE a student horn. Based on the company's reputation
and the play tests by professionals, it sounds like it would be a good
instrument to buy if the price is right.

If you have to mic a saxophone, the rest of the band is too loud.
