Hi Donna,

I've been waiting to see if someone might provide a definitive answer to your
question but, so far, it hasn't happened so I will add the meager information I
have to Lori's. My source is a phone call to a retired clarinetist who had one
for sale a couple of years ago. My memory is somewhat hazy and "Sneezy" isn't
cooperating at the moment but I can tell you that the S1 is a professional
model Buffet, comparable in workmanship, etc., to the R13. I believe Buffet
discontinued the line sometime in 80's (I think late 80's). Also, as I recall,
the primary difference between the S1 and the R13 is that S1's have a somewhat
larger bore. Hope this helps.
