Nope - same things, just slightly changed over time. vi is ex is ed.Emacs is
a state of mind, though (at least according to Richard Stallman :), just like
teco or the old GE/Funnywell tex. A long time back I was using jove (Jonathan's
Own Version of Emacs) on a toy PC as a mail editor with uupc as my mail
connection to the Michigan Mail Mafia (their official name!) run out of the
Michigan Cancer Foundation - maybe around 1984/85. All of that stuff would
still compile & run today if I needed it to.

Careful - we're off-topic and I'm getting nostalgic :^)
