Any and all who are interested in the dynamics of breathing check out the
December 1998, Instrumentalist article, " An Instrumentalist Classic The
Dynamics of Breathing," by Kevin Kelly. This is a reprint of substantial
portions of a December 1983 Instrumentalist article which was a joint
interview with Arnold Jacobs (formerly principal Tuba with the Chicago
Symphony) and David Cugell (then director of the pulmonary function laboratory
at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.) It is very informative without
being overly technical.
