For sale:
Buffet Prestige Basset Clarinet in A (Serial 24111)
This horn has come to me from the estate of a fine clarinetist and teacher,
Jim Russell, East Bay Area, California. Despite its low serial number
(24111) it is a "late-model" horn, and it is in perfect condition.
I have played this horn and it is sweet. The top register is very pure "A
clarinet" and the bottom extension speaks easily. The pads are in very
good shape.
The instrument has been slightly altered, in that the throat-tone A and G#
keys have been "built up" with cork (easily removed) to accomodate Jim's
large hands. It can be easily fixed, and an adjustment to the sales price
will be made.
The case is perfect: it has double combination latches (each set to "622"
btw).
I represent the estate as seller's agent. I am in the Washington D.C. area
(Northern Virginia) and can arrange shipment for trial purposes.
Arrangements can be made as necessary for shipping, insurance, surety,
etc., if desired.
Please phone or e-mail privately.
