A few things for those of you in the NY/NJ area:

Richard Stoltzman is playing with the NY Youth Symphony on Sunday, December 13
2 or 3 pm at Carnegie Hall (you can look it up on the CH web site). He is
playing the Prokofiev/Kennan Sonata and a new work commisionned by the
orchestra. Because the conductor and manager of the orchestra are both friends
of mine, I can get a few free tickets to this concert. If anyone is
interested, please email me privately with your full name and I will see if I
can have a ticket left for you at the NY Youth Sym. will-call box. Otherwise,
I think tickets are 5 bucks or so.

Second: Today, Dec. 7, individual tickets went on sale for the MET orchestra's
May 2nd Carnegie Hall concert. Ricardo Morales will be performing the Mozart
Concerto with James Levine on this program. I just got my ticket and there are
very few left, mostly partial view. I would say this is one of the can't-miss
clarinet events of the decade here in NY, so if you want to go, order now or
cry later. I missed the Columbus fest but have friends in the Columbus
Symphony who were more than impressed with his performance there. With Levine,
one of the great Mozart conductors alive today, It should be most memorable.

David Hattner, NYC
